>Attention Seniors: Cap and gown pictures will be taken on Thursday, Feb. 11th in the auditorium from 7:45 to 1:30.  All teachers have a list of your scheduled times.  There will be a $5 sitting fee payable at the camera.  Cash, check, or credit card will be accepted for pay.

>AP Exams: All WCPSS students enrolled in Advanced Placement classes are expected to take AP Exams. AP Exams will be given during the first two weeks in May. The cost for each AP Exam is $86.00. Fee reductions are available for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch and also for some families with limited incomes. AP Exam orders require the completion of an AP ORDER FORM and check or money order, made out to Holly Springs High School. Turn orders in to Becky Bloomfield in Student Services. All AP Exam orders must be received by Friday, March 12, 2010. No late orders will be accepted.

>Semiformal: Snowflake Semiformal is fast approaching- it's next Friday! Buy your ticket today during lunch for $5 and make your song request. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

>Scholarships: Juniors and Seniors for information about College Applications and Scholarships visit the Student Services Website. New information is constantly being added, so be sure to check this site regularly for updates!

>FASFA Help: If you plan on going to a university or community college, but have not completed your FASFA form, the Holly Springs Branch of the State Employees' Credit Union will be hosting FASFA Day on Saturday, February 13th, 2009.

>SAT: Do you plan to attend a four-year college? If so, you must take the SAT. The SAT will be administered March 13. Students must register by February 4th.

>Mural Contest: The mural contest has been extended to Friday, February 19.  The theme this year is “Hawk Pride”.  We are looking for any type of art that can be displayed on a large canvas. Think outside the box!  Some ideas include:  painting, drawing, digital photography or collage.  Your work must be submitted on an 18 x 20 sheet of paper by Friday, February 5 to the front office.  All entries will be judged by the teachers and staff of the school and the winner will be notified by the PTSA.  The winning entry will need to be enlarged to a canvas provided by the PTSA and will be unveiled at the school in September 2010.

>Early Wednesdays: Parents, please note that all Wake County Schools will be dismissing one hour early each Wednesday. HSHS students will be dismissed at 1:28 PM on these Early Dismissal Days. They will have until 1:45 PM to exit the campus. This time will be used for our teachers to work in professional learning teams to support learning and teaching. In addition, HSHS has 4 Early Release Days where students are released at 12:00. These dates are: Oct. 21, Dec. 2, Feb.3, April 21. Early Release Dates

>Saturday School:  Saturday School lasts for four (4) hours beginning at 8:00 am & ending at 12:00 noon in room 3708 with Mrs. Borchert.  The dates for 2nd semester are: May 1, 8, 15, 22 and June 5 .>>> Saturday School Details

>HSHS Sports: For dates and locations for all athletic events go to the HSHS Athletics Web site.

>Student Drivers:Lunch and Parking Passes will continue to be sold on the first Tuesday of every month in the Media Center, before school at 7:00am-7:20am. See Mr. Byrd for details.

>H1N1 Information: Wake County Human Services recommends that parents and employees visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's website for information and facts about Swine Flu-H1N1. You can also find Q & A and additional resources on this WCPSS Site. Click here for latest update.

>Drivers Ed: For up to date information about Drivers Ed go to the Student Web site.
Be sure to have the following items with you when going to validate your Eligibility Certificate:
1. A parent to sign Driving Eligibility Certificate
2. Driver Education Certificate
3. Certified Birth Certificate
4. Copy of the previous semester’s report card with FINAL grades.
If you do not have your report card at the time you are obtaining your DEC, you may pick up completed certificate the next day.
